Sam Villano is a classically trained baritone, composer and pianist. He has taught music in various styles, including classical, rock, pop, R&B, jazz, Broadway and country. He received his Bachelor of Music in Composition cum laude from Illinois Wesleyan University in 2020, where he studied voice with Bob Mangialardi. In addition to his passion for opera and art song, he has a vast knowledge of musical theatre repertoire.
He has extensive experience performing around the world, including in Canada, Poland, Scotland, South Africa, Spain and the United States. In 2019 he was selected from members of the Illinois Wesleyan University Collegiate Choir to sing with Andrea Bocelli in Poznań, Poland. Known for his nuanced and humorous performances, he has appeared as Leporello in Scenes from Don Giovanni and as The King in Massenet’s Cendrillon. As an educator, his chief aim is to inspire a lifelong love of music in his students.
