David Blonstein has a passion for the art of music best described as contagious. For years, David has dedicated himself to piano performance and the craft of music composition. Having earned his Bachelor’s in Music and English from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (2017) and his Master’s in Music Composition from the Vermont College of Fine Arts (2020), David draws upon his enthusiasm and expertise to identify each student’s unique skillset to polish until they truly shine.
A Las Vegas Academy Honors Piano alumni and former Interlochen Music Center performance student, he possesses the knowledge and experience necessary to guide students down any avenue of piano performance. Classical, pop, jazz—David has done it all, and can teach it all! As a long-time composer and music theorist, David brings a wealth of knowledge of music analysis and comprehension to each lesson. He believes his students should always develop a deep familiarity with their music to get to the heart of each piece. By understanding both the music and the composer’s intent, students breathe life into the notes on the page like never before.
In addition to piano performance, David directly employs his experience as a composer to help students find their individual voice and create new music. Many students take piano lessons for years and remain completely unaware they have the potential to make melodies of their own! For that reason, David encourages his students to compose and pursue a relationship with music beyond the performance stage. Be it piano performance or music composition, he always brings his a-game to each lesson, and gives his students the time, dedication, and knowledge necessary to take their music to the next level!
